Moving Tactics Partners with Learn2Live to Empower Young Women In Vulnerable Communities

At Moving Tactics, a core value of our business is to empower others through self-development, particularly children and youth through education. One such organisation that we continue to work closely with, and support is Learn2Live, an NPO who runs various projects focused on Early Childhood Development and empowerment of women in the Kraaifontein and Eersteriver areas of the Western Cape.

Through their Ubomi Little Sisters programme, which runs twice a week throughout the year, Learn2Live is empowering over 60 young girls and women between the ages of 8-17 years old. They address their fundamental needs and establish a strong foundation for personal growth and development and provide a safe space for teenage girls in particular to express themselves, receive support, mentoring  and a space to form meaningful friendships. This year, the programme focused on the foundations of a healthy and balanced life, emphasising the basic needs of proper nutrition, adequate sleep, mental well-being, and physical health. Some of the Ubomi Little Sisters teens also participated in swimming lessons, which not only contributed to their personal development but also enhanced their safety and water skills. To further promote physical fitness whilst instilling teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence in the Ubomi Little Sisters, the programme will conclude for the year with a boot camp experience. To further enhance the educational and technological skills of the young women in the Ubomi Little Sisters programme, Moving Tactics donated a number of tablets to the organisation.

Arina Kitching, Director of Learn2Live says,“Learn2Live Community Center sincerely appreciates the financial and emotional support from Moving Tactic, in helping us improve the lives of women and children in our vulnerable communities. The tablets you generously donated have allowed us to expose our Ubomi Little Sisters to more technology, granting them access to tools and programmes that foster their technological skills. These tablets will play a vital role in aiding them with their schoolwork, enabling them to explore the digital world, and so much more. Your unwavering support has brought us closer to our mission of nurturing strong, resilient, and empowered young women.”
