Campaign Assistant Internship (Johannesburg)

To help us keep pushing the boundaries, we are looking for a highly organised, creative, and driven Campaign Assistant to join our fast-paced team.

Role Overview

Campaign Assistant to support the planning, coordination, execution, and reporting of both digital media and retail campaigns. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across internal teams, suppliers, and clients. This position also includes social media management and regular site visits to ensure campaign quality and execution.

Campaign Coordination Support Responsibilities

  • Support Campaign Managers with the day-to-day coordination of campaigns across digital and retail environments
  • Assist in communicating with suppliers regarding mock-ups, artwork, timelines, production, and campaign deliverables
  • Monitor and track campaign timelines, including:
    • Mock-up approvals
    • Artwork deadlines
    • Print and production deadlines
    • Delivery schedules
    • Flighting dates
  • Compile and distribute campaign documentation, including:
    • Implementation briefs
    • Store communication documents
    • Proof of execution (once campaigns go live)
    • Supporting documentation and client presentations
  • Assist in maintaining and updating campaign calendars, including:
    • Campaign schedules and flighting dates
    • Client details
    • Store lists
  • Follow up with suppliers on outstanding items, updates, and production progress
  • Coordinate campaign materials, testers, samples, and other deliverables where required
  • Attend weekly content and campaign status meetings
  • Ensure adherence to content guidelines and campaign specifications

Campaign Reporting & Quality Control

  • Compile and distribute:
    • Post-campaign reports (within 2–3 days of campaign completion)
    • Analytical data reports (monthly and bi-monthly)
  • Save, organise, and manage proof-of-flighting and proof-of-execution imagery
  • Compare executed campaigns against approved mock-ups and flag discrepancies to the Campaign Manager
  • Assist with monitoring campaign quality standards across stores and digital placements
  • Support site visits to monitor execution, troubleshoot issues, and ensure campaign compliance
  • Identify, report, and escalate technical issues related to screens, hardware, software, or in-store execution
  • Capture campaign photos and content for internal reporting and social media use

Site Visits & Field Work

  • Schedule and conduct regular site visits (approximately 8–14 stores per month)
  • Verify campaign implementation, performance, and compliance in-store
  • Attempt to resolve technical or execution issues on-site where possible before escalation
  • Provide feedback and observations from site visits to internal teams

Social Media Management Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day social media platforms
  • Coordinate content scheduling and publishing across platforms
  • Monitor engagement and performance metrics
  • Contribute insights and data for reporting and campaign optimisation
  • Assist in capturing and repurposing campaign content for social media use

Administration & Logistics

  • Maintain and organise digital filing systems for:
    • Campaign documentation
    • Mock-ups and creative assets
    • Reports
    • Supplier information
    • Internal trackers
  • Maintain and update internal systems such as campaign trackers and databases
  • Prepare courier lists and assist with coordinating delivery and collection of campaign materials, samples, and testers
  • Ensure client presentations and supporting documentation are up to date, accurate, and backed up

Research & Development Support

  • Conduct ongoing research on:
    • Competitor activity
    • Brand developments
    • Industry trends
    • International campaign initiatives
  • Support the Campaign Manager with insights that contribute to strategic planning and campaign innovation

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Interest in retail activations, digital media, marketing campaigns, and brand experiences
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

Requirements

Applicants must not have participated in a YES4YOUTH programme before and must be between the ages of 18 to 34.
